So for the past couple months Beckett has been really interested in what we are doing and wants to do it as well. Like when we're eating or drinking he freaks out, starts panting and anxiously grabs for whatever it is. He loves sucking on our cups especially. Here's a couple videos of it from about a month ago. The second video- I was bad and let him suck on my apple for a little bit. He cried when I took it away from him. I now have these cool contraption/ teether things, where you put the food in the net and you don't have to worry about choking on it.
I was filming it again today while he was in the ExerSaucer- he freaked out as soon as he saw me pick it up- he's not normally so wobbly in that thing- but it looks like he could get whiplash from reacting so quickly.
So for the past few months Beckett has been sleeping horribly during the night- worse than when he was a newborn- waking up every 1-3 hours. A few weeks ago he was doing a lot better- doing 4 hours- then 5, 6,7, and even 8 eight hours. He did really good for about a week. His naps also for a couple weeks were getting longer- instead of 45 minutes he'd do over an hour- sometimes even two! I was real excited about having a bigger chunk of time.
However the past two weeks he has digressed again and I'm not sure why. He's horrible to put to bed for naps or bedtime- he throws a fit- and even though he's tired and falling asleep- he gets mad and refuses. Instead of it taking me 5-10 minutes with a little fussing- it takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours to get him down. And after all that, he naps for 30 minutes. I'll put him down for bed and he wakes up 30 minutes later. I then try to put him back down for the next few hours.
I'm not sure why he's doing this all of a sudden- I've tried many things- but he gets so worked up that the only thing that will calm him after a few hours is nursing him. I try not to- because I don't want that to be the problem- I've tried the let him cry and come in and reassure him every so often- but nothing really has worked. I know they recommend not starting solids until 6 months but I was ready to try something else to see if that helps with his sleeping. He's only a couple weeks off. I was going to lose my mind if I had to keep doing this every day. Just the past couple days he's gotten better about some things- but tomorrow is another day. It seems to be hit or miss- I'm trying to make since of what is affecting his sleep. I don't really think solids is the answer- but we were ready to try him on it anyways. I still worry he doesn't get enough from me.
