12 new posts... finally!

So I finally have caught up on blogging. I have done 11 posts after this one- and they are all mixed up- not in chronological order. All of them are dated around November 8th except for the one I finally posted about Beckett's first birthday- that was a post from July 20. I didn't want to take the extra time to organize it well. I'll now try to keep up with it- so it's not as hard.

For some reason some of the things I wrote about Beckett at fifteen months didn't save- so I'll write it again here. He now has 10 teeth- all of his first molars but still not one of his lower lateral incisors. He is better at eating now that I'm not nursing him during the day. He now will drink chocolate milk- but none of the others. He loves dipping his food in sauces. He loves playing peek-a-boo and hide-and-seek. Dan will hide and Beckett will find him- everyonce in awhile Beckett will hide- but usually he just puts a cloth over his head. He also loves to hide objects from us (usually behind his back). He is always putting his arms in the air and essentially asking "Where'd it go?" Then he'll bring it out and show us and then repeat over and over. He has even hid his BBQ sauce covered chicken nugget at dinner time- behind his back, on his shoulder...

He loves balls, dancing, stomping, climbing- he has finally figured out how to get on our kitchen chairs then on the kitchen table. He puts everything on his head or around his neck. He is starting to imitate everything we do. He tries on our shoes, turns on electronics, puts a DVD in and out of the player (unfortunately), wears hair ties on his wrist, blows his nose in a tissue, swats flies out of the air with a book, and spits on the floor like a champ. The last two- he didn't learn from me.

He's becoming pretty chatty- but still not many real words. He says dad, ball and maybe go (he always says oh when he raises his arms when something is "hidden"). Dan's dad swears he says grandpa. I do think Beckett likes grandpa more than me. He still doesn't say anything like ma.

Some more old summer pics

Beckett loves to play with the dishes. He'll sit and pretend he's mixing something in the bowl. He's also figured out how to get off some of these child locks.
So before Beckett was born we switched our office into the guest room and painted the walls blue (with stripes on one wall). Then we just recently had to switch beckett's room with our office/guest room for the internet hook-ups and Beckett's old room gets pretty cold. So now our office is lovely blue-striped! But I'm not going to repaint that room for awhile.

Upon doing some tests we discovered our home has extremely high levels of mold in it. So we have been keeping busy trying to remove it (even though it is not visable). We ripped up the carpet, put in wood floors, painted the walls (went from a peach color to a light grey), installed new baseboards, closet doors, etc in our bedroom. We had all of bedroom furniture in our living room and we slept in the guest room for like a month while we got it done. I love it. We also are working on our bathroom- we took off the mirror. We're going to paint, put in framed mirrors, and install new hardware.

We took Beckett swimming for the first time- he did not like it. I think he would do better now. He loves playing in water. We haven't tried but the one time though.

parade of homes

A friend of mine and I went to Summit County Parade of Homes. It was fun to get out and do something different. We only had time to see some of the homes. I love this kitchen! (not that rug though). I love Sumitt county especially in September, when we went, with all the beautiful fall colors. I'd love to live there!
One of the homes we looked at had a three story rock climbing wall and a hibachi grill.

Denver

We went to Denver and visited with family and some friends. We hung out with the Feher family. They have a boy Beckett's age and a 4 year old girl. It was fun seeing them all interact. Beckett really liked running around with Morgan and trying on her headband.
Beckett also got to spend time with his favorite person- grandpa. He loves his grandpa- I think he prefers him even over me.

A not so attractive picture of me- but I like how Beckett's chowing down on his favorite fruit- watermelon. He also loves finding little places to hang out in- like under this light stand.

Helping grandpa water the yard.
Sneaking a drink.

He loves putting grandpa's hat on ( and off and on...).

Beckett picked a couple of flowers and then tried to put them back on the stem- didn't work so well.

Grandma was showing him how to smell the flowers. I guess he thought she kissed the flowers, because he started kissing the flowers.

Rifle Water Park

Rifle got this cool water spray park. We went and checked it out. At first Beckett wasn't so sure about it- but then he had a blast. Even though he was shivering, he didn't want to quit playing. Too bad this park didn't open up until the end of September. Beckett is fascinated with dogs. That is the only sign he'll do- but he does it all the time- He'll sign dog anytime he sees them, hears them, or wants to see or hear them.

Dan had to help beckett turn the water on- beckett kept trying to stomp on it- but couldn't get it by himself.

Random Pictures

He just learned how to fold his arms for prayers (in this picture he was 14 months). Except for he is constantly folding his arms and can only stay like that for less than a minute.

He's so proud of himself for climbing on our fireplace. He often stands up there- I think he likes the higher vantage point.
He found this "megaphone" in the kitchen cupboard and was making noises through it.

He loves pulling out the dresser drawers- the bottom one he likes to sit in.

I love his pooh face here- he's pushing a little too hard I think. He was trying to drink the smootie from a cup by himself.

15 months

15 month check up 10/25/2010 Beckett was:
19 pounds (< 3%)
30 inches (10-25%)
19 1/2 inches (75%)

Rifle Falls-10/16/2010

It was kind of funny because they were saying they didn't like bats- and as I approached the cave I was like "There's a bat in the cave" and then realized they might think I was meaning the kind they were afraid of. But no there was just a random plastic bat there- Beckett liked banging it around.

The Feher family came and visited with us for a weekend in October. We love having visitors. We went to Rifle Falls, the water spray park, and played games.
